What we store, and why
Your account
The email address you sign in with and a username. We use the address to sign you in and to contact you about the service.
Using the app without signing in
This creates a temporary profile that holds your progress but no identity. Temporary profiles may be deleted at any time.
Your learning
Your learning activity and progress, your settings, and technical details of the browser and device you use. We also use learning data in aggregated or de-identified form to improve the service.
Messages you send us
Messages you send us through the app are stored together with your email address, if we have one, and technical details of your session at the time, so that a problem report can be understood.
Technical records
Our servers keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security, troubleshooting, and to understand how the service is used.
If you arrive through one of our ads, we keep what the ad link carries, such as the search keyword, an approximate location and the ad's click identifier, to learn which ads work.
Cookies
The only cookies are the ones that sign you in and keep you signed in. We use no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies.
Who else touches your data
- The providers that host the service and deliver our emails.
- A speech-scoring service, which receives the recording you make in pronunciation practice. The recording is not kept by us; only the scores are.
Our providers may store or process information outside your country, where different laws apply. Beyond these providers, we disclose personal information only where the law requires it, to protect our rights, or to whoever takes over the service. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to the address above. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and some information may be kept where the law allows or requires it.
Children
Parlevi is not aimed at children and does not seek to collect personal information from children under 13. To create an account or give us any personal information you must be at least 13 years old, or older where your local law sets a higher age. Parents and guardians can write to the address above.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, but no online service is completely secure and we cannot guarantee it.
